Martin and Miss Clara M. Lowe, both of Altoona, were married at St. Mark's Catholic church last evening, in the presence of a number of invited guests. The procession march was played by the bride's brother, Mr. John Lowe, as the bridal party took their places at the altar. The Rev. Giblin, assistant pastor of the church, at 8 o'clock performed the ceremony. The bride's attendant was Miss Margaret Martin, a sister of the groom, and Mr. Edgar R. Martin, a nephew of the bride, attended the groom. Following the ceremony a reception was tendered at the home of the bride, 1104 Seventh avenue. The bride was handsomely attired in white and carried a large bouquet of bridal roses. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Rebecca J. Lowe and is a popular young lady. Mr. Martin is known to every follower of base ball and is one of the most popular players in the Tri-State league. Last season he played in the outfield for the Harrisburg team and when appearing on the Altoona diamond was greeted with applause, demonstrating his popularity. "Silent Joe," as he is known to the base ball world, has had a new home built at 519 Crawford avenue, and which he has finely furnished, to which place he took his bride and where they will reside in the future.
