A quiet but very pleasant and social nuptial even occurred yesterday evening at the residence of Mrs. Kantner, 406 Eighth avenue. Promptly at 6 30 o'clock, Mr. John N. Miles, of West Middlesex, Mercer county, and Miss Annie D. Kantner, of this city, appeared in the parlor, with Mr. S. T. Mercer, of New Wilmington, Mercer county, and Miss Lucy Robison, of Sharon, Mercer county, as attendants, where the pastor, Rev. E. D. Weigle, spoke the impressive words which united two hearts as one. The ceremony was performed in the presence of the family and their immediate friends. After heartiest congratulations had been extended a bounteous collation was partaken of, to which ample justice was done by all present. The wedding presents were numerous, ornamental and valuable, one being from Paris. The happy couple took the 9 05 p.m. train for Birmingham. They will return this evening, and will spend Sunday in this city, going to their future home, West Middlesex, Mercer county, on Monday. Mr. Miles is a young man of excellent character. The lady whose heart and hand he has won is one of our best known and most estimable young ladies. She has a host of friends in this city, whose best wishes will accompany her to her new home in her now changed relations. One scarcely knows whom to congratulate most - Mr. or Mrs. Miles. The Tribune joins their many friends in the wish that their voyage together across life's sea may be both pleasant and prosperous. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday, February 13, 1891
