Mattern at Canoe Creek was the scene of a happy event on Thursday, January 10, when their daughter, Anna, was united in marriage to M. H. Mummert of Royer, this county. The ceremony was performed by Rev. George Noden, pastor of the United Brethren church, assisted by W. H. Mattern, father of the bride. Miss Annie Mummert of Johnstown, sister of the groom, acted as bridesmaid, while W. A. Mattern of Hollidaysburg, cousin of the bride, was the groom's best man. Miss Mazie Lingenfelter of McKees presided at the organ. The bride and groom departed the same evening on an eastern wedding tour.
