At half past 8 o'clock on Thursday evening last a very happy event occurred at the residence of A. L. Lockard, the contractor, No. 2706 Broad street. It was the marriage of his estimable daughter, Miss Ida Lockard, and Mr. Fred Oellien, of St. Louis, Mo., now employed on the Pittsburgh Dispatch. The ceremony was performed by Rev. E. D. Weigle, pastor of the First Lutheran church, in the presence of a goodly number of invited guests. The bridesmaid was Miss Maggie Painter, while the groom's best man was Mr. Harry Lockard, brother of the bride. An elegant collation was partaken of by the guests and from 8.30 o'clock until 12 a reception was tendered. The happy couple departed for a western trip on Pacific express yesterday morning, and at its conclusion will take up their residence in Pittsburgh. The bride was the recipient of many presents from her friends, thus showing the esteem in which she is held by them. The TRIBUNE extends congratulations and hopes that the future may contain naught but happiness for the newly wedded couple. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Saturday, March 14, 1891
