All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ PARKS - WENNING A holiday wedding was solemnized on Sunday afternoon, July 4, at 3 o'clock on the First Church of God, Canton, Ohio, when Miss Iona Wenning, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Wenning of 310 Young avenue, N. E. Canton, and Mr. Robert E. Parks of 325 Girard avenue S. E. Canton, were united in marriage. Rev. D. E. Levers officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Miss Hazel Kuhn, sang "Oh Promise Me" and "Because" and Mrs. Levers sang "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer". Mrs. White accompanied the vocalists. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a white brocaded marquisette gown of an off-the-shoulder style with a net yoke. The fitting bodice was accentuated by a full skirt. The gown had long tapered sleeves. Her fingertip veil fell from a lace-trimmed tiara of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white carnations. Mrs. Harold Wenning was her sister-in-law's only attendant. She wore pink chiffon designed with a sweetheart neckline and full skirt and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. John White, a friend of the bridegroom was best man. Ushers were Harold Wenning, brother of the bride and Charles Lang, nephew of the bridegroom. The bride's mother wore pink crepe print. Mrs. Pearl Rutlege, the bridegroom's sister, wore black and white. Both wore carnation corsages. A reception was held at the Wenning home, where the couple will reside after a week in Washington, D. C. Mr. Parks is a veteran of three years service in World war II and is employed at Diebold, Inc., in Canton. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Parks of Woodbury Township, on the Clover Creek Road and is a brother of Mrs. Roy Kensinger of Williamsburg, R. D.
