Powell, of Altoona, and Miss Laura Sell, the esteemed daughter of Rev. Brice Sell, of near Newry, were joined in the holy bonds of matrimony at the residence of the bride's parents, by Rev. John B. Fluck, of Loysburg, Bedford county. The guests numbered about forty, who gathered during the day. When they had all gathered they began to untie the presents, which were many, costly and very useful, after which they were invited to the dining room, where sat a table groaning under the weight of its luxurious load. After all had eaten to their satisfaction, they repaired to the parlor, where at 2 p.m., the words were said which gave the two the same name (Powell). The bride is one of Freedom township's finest young ladies, and is highly esteemed by all who know her. We wish to join in wishing the happy couple a pleasant trip over the sea of life.
