The Wedding Which Took Place at St. Mary's Church Last Evening. One of the most largely attended weddings which has occurred in Altoona for some months took place in St. Mary's German Catholic church at half past 7 o'clock last evening. Invitations had been issued to 300 guests and the rain which fell steadily all evening did not deter the friends of the contracting parties from attending the impressive services. The church had been handsomely decorated with flowers and tropical plants and presented a very beautiful appearance. The exquisite music lent attraction to the event and the occasion was one which will linger for a long while in the memories of those present. Among the guests were people from Johnstown, Pittsburgh and other cities. The contracting parties were Mr. William R. Ramsey, of Johnstown, and Miss Margaret A. Wilhelm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hoelle, of 1409 Thirteenth street. The wedding ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Holtapple assisted by Rev. Father Jordan. The groom's attendants were his brothers - Messrs. Charles, George, Clayton and James Ramsey, while the bridesmaids were Miss June Rose, daughter of Mayor Rose, of Johnstown; Miss Hal Boyer and Miss J. Kane, of Tyrone, and Miss Tillie Vogt, of Altoona. The bride was attired in a beautiful white crepe d'chine, trimmed with bolting cloth lace and carried a boquet of lilies of the valley. Of the bridesmaids Miss Rose wore yellow silk, Miss Boyer steel silk, Miss Kane pale blue silk and Miss Vogt pink silk. All carried boquets. The users were Messrs. George F. Streit and Charles Baumgardner. When the ceremony was concluded the bridal party was driven to the home of the bride, where a reception was held from 10 until 12 o'clock. This reception was also largely attended. The collation which was served the guests was a magnificent one. Covers were laid for 100 persons and the tables were arranged in excellent taste. This work was done under the direction of Messrs. Charles Johnson and W. T. Bolyer, who were assisted by Washington Woods and David Williams. On fast line, accompanied by innumerable good wishes from their many friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey departed for New York, where they will remain several weeks. The presents received by the bride were many in number and valuable. Mr. Hoelle's gift was a handsomely appointed house in Johnstown. Mr. Ramsey is one of Johnstown's best citizens. There, as well as in Altoona, he has many friends. He is also prominent in politics, being the republican candidate for the office of treasurer in Cambria county. He has secured for a wife a most estimable young lady. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday, October 24, 1890
