Cupid has gained another victory and to-night (Thursday) he will place his trophies on Hymen's altar to be joined in the solemn chains of wedlock, that they may equally share the joys, blessings, comforts and prosperities, as well as the sorrows, afflictions and adversities of life. The trophies are Mr. George Reed, the urbane clerk at the Adams express office, and Miss May Patterson, one of Tyrone's estimable young ladies, grand-daughter of Esquire Jones and a niece of Captain C. W. W. Jones, of the Herald. The marriage will take place at the residence of Esquire Jones on Main street. After a brief trip in the West, they will return to Tyrone to face life from a married standpoint. This notice, like the publication of the President's message in a number of our prominent dailies, is a little premature; but nevertheless we sincerely welcome them to our ranks not, as some put it, because "misery loves company," but because they are doing and fulfilling a solemn duty, obeying the wishes of the Most High, when He says, "It is not good for man to be alone."
