All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ Roaring Spring Couple Is Wed The First Church of the Brethren in Roaring Spring was the scene of a beautiful candle-light wedding on Saturday evening, June 26, at 7 o'clock when Miss Anna Pauline Ritchey, R.N., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ritchey of 534 East Main street, Roaring Spring, became the bride of R. Dean Replogle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Replogle of 422 Cherry street, Roaring Spring. Rev. H Rhoades officiated using the impressive double-ring ceremony. The church was decorated with ferns, white lilies and delphiniums. Preceding the ceremony Ethel Mae Metzer presided at the organ, playing a short recital of favorite selections of the bridal couple. She accompanied Miss Thelma, Ritchey, sister of the bride, who sang "Because." The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a light blue street length dress with white accessories and wore a corsage of red rosebuds. Miss Margaret Ritchey, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, attired in a gray street-length dress with white accessories and a corsage of red rosebuds. Donald Replogle, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man and the ushers were John Ritchey, brother of the bride, and Thomas Sell, a cousin of the bridegroom. The mother of the bride chose a flowered navy dress with matching accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. The mother of the bridegroom wore a navy dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. A reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride for the wedding party and immediate families. The bride's gift to her attendants were gold bracelets and the bridegroom's gifts were a billfold to his best man and gold tie clasps to the ushers. The bride is a graduate of the Replogle High school, class of 1944, the Windber hospital school of nursing, graduating in 1947. She is now a member of the nursing staff of the Nason hospital in Roaring Spring. The bridegroom is a graduate of the Roaring Spring High school, class of 1944, and is a veteran of World war II, having spent 10 months in the ETO with the Army Air force. He is now employed at the D. M. Bare Paper company. Following the reception the couple left for a wedding trip to New York. They will reside at the home of the bridegroom for the present.
