A correspondent at Clappertown sends the following item: Mr. John S. Rhodes, son of William Rhodes of this place, and Miss Lizzie Brumbaugh, daughter of John H. Brumbaugh, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony at the residence of the bride's parents, about a mile south of this place, on Tuesday evening, March 3, by Rev. B. R. M. Sheeder, of Williamsburg. The ceremony was performed in the presence of about thirty guests, and after the congratulations the party was invited to the dining room where they found the table groaning beneath the load of good things, to which all did ample justice. After supper they passed the unanimous verdict that Mrs. Brumbaugh knows how to get up a first- class supper. The bride is a bright young lady well qualified to perform the duties to which this event elects her. The groom is an industrious, energetic young man and will make a good husband. We join their host of friends in wishing them a long life of happiness and prosperity.
