Two of Altoona's Prominent Young People Married This Morning. The nuptials of Mr. Walton B. Schaeffer and Miss Emma Florence Askew were solemnized at 9 o'clock this morning at the residence of the bride's parents, 1107 Third avenue, by Rev. J. F. Hartman, pastor of the Second Lutheran church, in the presence of the immediate relatives and friends of the bride and groom. The attendants were Mr. T. E. Mickle and Miss Emily Bell. Among the guests were the venerable Mrs. Askew, the bride's grandmother, and Mr. William Askew, of Philadelphia, uncle of the bride. At the conclusion of the pretty wedding service a reception followed till 11 o'clock, when the banquet was served, and at noon the young couple left on a brief eastern trip, expecting to return home Monday evening. The bride, who is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Askew, is graced with a beautiful person, pleasant manners and a bright disposition which have much endeared her to the large social circle in which she moves. Her varied feminine accomplishments and amiable deportment give assurance of continued happiness in the home where she presides. The groom is a railroad ticket receiver in the city and a popular young gentleman. Many beautiful and costly presents were received, among them being a solid antique bedroom suite, an elegant couch, silverware, glassware, paintings and other articles of virtu. The Mirror joins in the general congratulations to the bride and groom. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday Evening, April 19, 1893
