At 8 o'clock last evening at the residence of the bride's parents, 818 Third avenue, Mr. Sherman Shaffer of this city, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Shaffer, of Wilmore, Cambria county, and Miss Elizabeth O. Harrison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Harrison were united in matrimony by Rev. M. C. ?, of Sinnamahoning, Cameron county, an uncle of the bride assisted by T. S. Wilcox, pastor of the Chestnut Avenue Methodist Episcopal church, of which both the bride and the groom are members. The groomsman was Mr. Levi Myers of Altoona, and the bridesmaid, Miss Catharine Hesser, of this city. ? Ellwood Harrison, a brother of the bride and little Beryl Allen, a niece of the bride, were the flower children. The bridal costume was of French muslin de soie trimmed with valenciennes inserts? and ribbons. The bridesmaid and flower girl were in white. The contracting parties and attendants took their appointed places to the music of the wedding march played by Miss Olive Miller. More than eighty relatives and friends of the young people were in attendance, many of them from out of town. After the ceremony there was a reception and a wedding dinner served by the Altamont caterers. The newly wedded couple left on fast line for an extensive wedding trip to Philadelphia, Washington, Baltimore and the sea shore. They will reside in a comfortably furnished home at 913 Seventh avenue on their return. Mr. Shaffer is an extra engineer on the Pittsburg division of the Pennsylvania Railroad. His wife has been an employe of William F. Gable & Co., in the millinery department for several years. Both have a wide circle of friends and few brides received such a large and elegant assortment of valuable gifts as were presented to Mrs. Shaffer.
