Dr. John Griffith Shaffer, of 2513 Beale avenue, and Miss Esther Delaney Trout, of 2501 Broad avenue, were united in marriage at the Trout home at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning by Rev. O. S. Frantz, pastor of Christ Reformed church. Dr. Shaffer was attended by his friend, Dr. J. D. Hougue, while Miss Trout was given away by her father. Only the immediate families of the couple were in attendance. Following a full course wedding luncheon after the ceremony, the newlyweds left for a honeymoon to be spent in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington and New York. They will attend the presidential inauguration at Washington today. Dr. Shaffer is one of the prominent younger dentists of the city. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Shaffer, of 2513 Beale avenue, and is a graduate of the local high school and the University of Michigan. His bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Trout, is a Wilson college girl. Both young people are popularly known in social circles. On their return to the city they will go to housekeeping in their newly furnished home at 914 Seventeenth street, Dr. Shaffer also having his offices at this address.
