PROMINENT LOCAL COUPLE MARRIED

  At 9 a.m. today at St. Theresa's Church, Fairview, Ruth Stevens 
Harrigan, daughter of Mrs. N. A. Stevens was united in marriage with 
Anthony M. Shields, son of Mrs. May Shields of 3616 Broad Avenue.  
Members of the immediate families attended the nuptial mass.  The 
celebrant was the Rev. Thomas A. Kelly. The attendants were Mrs. John 
N. Stevens of this city and Dr. F. K. Shields of Ebensburg.  The mass 
was served by nephews of the bridegroom.  They were Midshipmen Thomas 
A. Shields, second class, and Peter Ferdinand Shields who was recently 
graduated from the United States Naval Academy.  A family breakfast at 
the Blairmont Club followed the ceremony.  Mr. Shields is General 
Manager of the Sheraw Motor Company, 700-30 Green Avenue.
