D. H. Barron, assisted by Rev. David McKinsey, D.D., George W. Smith, M.D. to Miss Eliza B., daughter of Hon. Samuel Calvin. On the occasion of the above ceremony, was given one of the largest and most brilliant parties that ever came off in this place - over one hundred and fifty persons being in attendance. Everything was gotten up in the grandest style, in abundance and to spare, of the substantials and delicacies of the season, and all the guests enjoyed themselves to the fullest extent - the hospitable host and his amiable lady doing everything to make their friends feel comfortable and at home. The happy couple who have thus auspiciously united their fortunes, are great favorites wherever known, and we feel certain that we only express the general wish - that their voyage through life may be long, happy and prosperous, and that when they approach the end of life's journey, they may be prepared for that felicity which the righteous enjoy and which will endure throughout the countless ages of time. The Register, Hollidaysburg, Pa., Wednesday, April 22, 1874 At the marriage of Dr. Smith to Miss Calvin, on Thursday, there were in attendance six ministers, three of them D.D.'s - and about twelve M.D.'s - with a large sprinkling of the other professions.
