Laughlin of 110 South Lloyd street, and Edgar Raymond Smith of 206 Sixth avenue, were united in marriage in the Bethany Lutheran church on Tuesday evening, June 22, at 7 o'clock. Rev. George K. Bowers officiated at the double ring ceremony. Esther Myers, organist, played traditional wedding music and Miss Lousie Russell, soloist, sang "Because" and "From All This world I've Chosen You." The altar was decorated with white gladiola. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a pink linen suit and a white hat with a pink veil. She wore white accessories and a corsage of white roses. Mrs. Robert Ainsworth was matron of honor, attired in a blue linen suit with a white hat and a yellow rose corsage. The best man was Robert Ainsworth and the ushers were John Laughlin, brother of the bride, and Harold Barley, a cousin of the bridegroom. The mother of the bride wore a blue print dress with blue accessories and a corsage of red roses. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the basement of the church for 65 guests. The bridal table was decorated in pink and white. The couple left for a wedding trip to Atlantic City, N.J. For traveling the bride wore a navy blue dress with black accessories. The bridegroom attended Altoona High school and is a veteran of World war II, having served three years in all with one year in China. He is employed by a steel and pipe company of Youngstown, O.
