Snyder, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Snyder of 1111 Walnut street, Hollidaysburg, stationed at the aviation field at Mt. Clemens, Mich., was married on Oct. 5 to Miss Grace Forton, of that place, according to a message just received by the parents. They will remain at Mt Clemens until the young soldier is transferred. Corporal Snyder, a former Pennsy machinist in the Altoona shops, enlisted in the army seventeen months ago, selecting the aviation section. He was sent to Mt. Clemens as a motor mechanic and attached to the Fortieth Air squadron. While there he met Miss Forton and they soon became fast friends. The young soldier is one of the best known residents of Hollidaysburg and has a host of friends in this vicinity. Miss Forton, born in this country of French parents, is one of Mt. Clemens' most prominent young ladies and since American entered the world struggle, has been extremely active in war work and [it was] while on a mission of goodness among the boys in the Mt. Clemens camp that she became acquainted with Corporal Snyder. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Friday Morning, October 11, 1918
