On Wednesday, December 21, 1910, at high noon, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Nicodemus of Henrietta, their daughter Miss Kathryn, was united in marriage to Mr. George Steward of near Martinsburg. The ceremony was performed by their pastor, Rev. C. E. Heffieger, in the presence of forty invited guests. The contracting parties were attended by Miss Alma Hartman and Mr. E. K. Metzker, while the wedding march was played by Mrs. R. J. Hoover. The bride was attired in a dress of white silk messaline and carried a bouquet of white and pink carnations. Her maid also wore white. The groom and his attendant wore the conventional black. Guests were present from Altoona, Roaring Spring, Martinsburg and Henrietta. After congratulations were offered a sumptuous dinner was served. The bride was the recipient of many very handsome and useful presents, the value of which was about one hundred and twenty eight dollars. Among the list were silverware, cut glass, chinaware, table linen, rings and others too numerous to mention all. The groom's present to the bride was a large Brussels rug. The bride has for the past four years been a successful music teacher while the groom is an industrious young man and a farmer by occupation. A reception was given in honor of these young people by the groom's father, Mr. John Steward, at his home on New Year's day to a number of guests. Mr. and Mrs. Steward will make their home with the latter's parents at Henrietta. Martinsburg Herald, January 6, 1911
