A reception was given at the residence of J. W. Stewart on Friday last in honor of his son, W. L. Stewart, who the day previous led to the matrimonial altar Miss Bessie Ritchie. The happy couple were serenaded in the evening by the "Promiscuous Ethiopian Band." After playing for about half an hour the bride and groom were introduced and received many congratulations. The band was invited into the house, where a table well filled with good things awaited their approach, and after tickling the palate with viands that a king would envy and entertaining the party with vocal and other music they departed, wishing that such incidents would occur more frequently.
