Notable event in the society circles of the county capital was the wedding April seventh at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Over, on East Walnut street, who gave in marriage their daughter, Miss Frances Ruth Over to Francis Tingley, of Huntingdon, W. Va. The house was tastefully decorated for the affair with potted plants, ferns trailing vines and cut flowers. The ceremony took place in the parlor which was specially adorned with flowers and greenery, the bridal party standing in front of a magnificent bank of lilies and ferns. In the presence of a large number of invited guests, promptly on the half hour of 8, the imposing ring ceremony of the Presbyterian church was performed by Rev. William H. Orr, of Hollidaysburg. Clement Tingley, a brother of the groom, officiated as best man for the occasion. At the conclusion of the ceremony, a reception was tendered the bride and groom, and a delicious luncheon was served during which Vallade’s orchestra of Altoona, discoursed sweet musics. The porches were enclosed with canvas, giving additional room for the numerous guests that thronged the house. The bride is the second daughter of ex-postmaster and editor, Frank B. Over, of the Hollidaysburg Register. The groom is assistant engineer of the Ohio Valley Electric company at Huntingdon, W. Va., where they will go to housekeeping at once in a furnished flat. A number of handsome and appropriate presents were received consisting of cut glass, fine china, silverware, line and a great variety of bric-a-brac. The out-of-town guests present at the wedding were: Charles Tingley and family, of St. David, Pa.: Miss Ashmead, of Philadelphia; Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Shand and daughter, Miss Helen, of Narberth, Pa.; Miss Sarah Walkes, of Tarentum; Mr. and Mrs. Ward McLanahan, of Martinsburg, W. Va.; Mrs. Benjamin W. Tingley and daughter, of Wayne; Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Garrigues, of Baltimore; Mr. and Mrs. George W. Ziegler, Hon. Charles H. Rowland and wife, and Mrs. Harry Barnes, of Philipsburg; Mr. and Mrs. Stuart B. Over, of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Norman B. Pitcairn, of Chambersburg. The bride is a niece of the Misses Mary and Sue Bailey, of West Tenth street, this city.
