Miss Bertha Stoke, daughter of Mrs. G. W. Stoke, of 2020 Broad avenue, and Mr. Frederick Walker, of 211 First avenue, were married last evening at 8:30 o'clock, at the home of the bride by Rev. Clayton Grinnell, D.D., pastor of the First Baptist church, who performed the ring ceremony. The bride was dressed in white and carried a shower of pink roses. She was attended by two bridesmaids, dressed also in white and carrying pink rosebuds. They were Misses Grace Stoke, sister of the bride, and Margaret Walker, sister of the groom. The best men were Arthur Stoke, brother of the bride, and E. B. Klahre. Mrs. Annie Kreuzpointner, aunt of the bride, played the wedding march. The room was tastefully decorated with palm and fern and pink and white roses. After the ceremony a delicious wedding dinner was served to the guests, who were the members of the immediately families and friends of the contracting parties. The groom is employed with the P.R.R. Juniata offices. The couple left this morning on an extended trip to Philadelphia, New York and Atlantic City. They will be at home to their friends at the residence of the bride on and after September 15. Altoona Tribune, Thursday morning, August 29, 1918, page 10
