A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the First Presbyterian manse, Columbia, S.C., Tuesday afternoon, when Miss Grace Hoover, leader of the popular orchestra bearing her name, and Lieutenant Barton Wise were married by the Rev. A. W. Blackwood. The beautiful ring ceremony of the Presbyterian church was used. The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hoover, 118 Fifth avenue, is one of the most popular members of Altoona's younger social set. Lieutenant Wise, a graduate of Dickinson Law school in 1916 and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, is acting commander of Barrey [sic] E, 318th Field Artillery, Camp Jackson. The bride will remain with her husband until he leaves for France after which she will return to this city and reside with her parents until the war is over.
