All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Blair County Will Book D Page 390-91 Written: September 16, 1879 Recorded: October 6, 1880 I Abraham Koon of the Town of Duncansville in the County of Blair and State of Pennsylvania, (Tailor) do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. And first, I direct that my body be decently entered , and that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life. And as to such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with I dispose of the same as follows. - And first, I direct that my debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible and of the first moneys that may come into the hands of my executors, from any personal estate. Secondly, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Cevilla, the whole of my household furniture, together with all moneys due me and all my personal estate whatever, (excepting such bequest hereafter made) shall be and remain the absolute property of my said wife if she survives me. I also give and bequeath to my said wife the use and occupancy of all my real estate (excepting the bequest herein after made to my son Theodore) during her natural life, all of which shall be in lieu of her dower at Common law. Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Jemima, fifty dollars to be paid to her out of the money arising out of a note I hold against trustees of W. E. Church at Duncansville, also, my sewing machine, one good bed, bedstead, bedding, one set cane seated chairs, one set common chairs, one rustic rocking chair, and seven pictures with their frames, out of my household goods. Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my beloved son Theodore, my Tailor shop, situate in Duncansville with its appurtenances, and the ground upon which it stands and in front same width of the shop, to the street. Fifthly, I direct that as soon as may be after the death of wife, (should she survive me) my real estate to be sold by my executor at Public sale and that the net proceeds of such sale shall be equally divided among my children and legal heirs, share and share alike. And to effectuate this my intention, I do hereby vest in my executor full power and authority to sell and convey in fee simple my real estate so as aforesaid. And lastly, I do hereby make and ordain my said son Theodore, executor of this my last will and testament. In Witness whereof, I Abraham Koon, the testator, have to this my will, written on one sheet of paper, set my hand and seal, this sixteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy nine. Lingenfelter Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the county of Blair personally came John M. Gibboney and Samuel B. Confer the subscribing witnesses to the above will and being duly sworn according to law did depose and say they were personally present and saw and heard Abraham Koon the testator sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his testament and last will, that they signed their name in the presence and at the request of the said testator and in the presence of each other and that at the time of so doing he the said testator was of perfect and sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief.
