All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Source: Blair County Orphans Court Docket Vol C Page 228 Written: August 1863 Orphans Court Docket Vol. C, Page 228, No. 150, 1863 1863 No. 150 Proof being made of the due service of the rule of this Court granted at April Term last on the heirs and legal representatives of Jonathan Neff late of Logan township Blair County deceased to appear in court at the present time and accept or refuse and take the real estate of the said deceased at the valuation thereof or show cause why the same should not be sold, being the following described lands lying in Logan township bounded on the north by lands of Elias Baker, on the east by lands of Jonathan Stiteler, on the south by lands of Peter Good and on the west by lands of Mrs. Anna Maria Kinsel and containing about sixty seven acres and being part of the Old George Kuns survey valued and appraised by the inquest at the sum of three thousand seven hundred and thirty three dollars and twenty five cents. Samuel Koon alienee of Mary Williamson formerly Neff, heir of said deceased appears and accepts in the right of the said Mary Williamson (none of the other heirs appearing) the said real estate at the valuation whereupon 3rd August A.D. 1863 the court do decree the same to him the said Samuel Koon in right of the said Mary Williamson his heirs and assigns proved as fully and fairly as the said deceased had and held the same in his lifetime on his paying or securing to be paid to the other heirs and legal representatives of the said decd, their equal and porportionable shares of the two thirds of said valuation with interest the remaining one third at and immediately after the death of the said widow and shall annually pay to the said widow the legal interest of the one third part of said valuation according to law. W. Jackson to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In the Orphans Court of Blair County We Samuel Koon and John Young and William W. Jackson of said county do acknowledge ourselves to our and be indebted to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the use of the widow and heirs of the said Jonathan Neff the sum of Ten thousand dollars lawful money of the United States to be levied of our goods and chattels, lands, and tenements. The condition of this recognizance is such that if the said Samuel Koon, his heirs, executors and administrators shall pay to the widow and heirs of said Jonathan Neff their several shares and pursuits in the valuation money of certain real estate adjudged to the said Samuel Koon by the Orphan Court of said county this day according to law there the above Recognizence to be void else to be of full force and virtue.
