On this 24th day of September A.D., one thousand nine hundred personally appeared before me a Notary Public of the Boro of Canton, a Court of Record within and for the County and State aforesaid, Nehemiah Robinson who, being duly swaorn according to law, declares that he is the identical Nehemiah Robinson who was enrolled on the 12th day of August, 1862, in Company "D", of the 132nd Regiment of Penn's. Vols. commanded by Capt. Chas. H. Chase and was honorably discharged at........on the.... day of ......., 18 . That his personal description is as follows: Age 60 years, height 5 feet, ....inches; complexion light; hair dark; eyes brown. That while a member of the organization aforesaid, in the service and line of duty at Arlington Heights, Va. in the State of Virginia on or about the ....day of August, 1862, Soldier contracted rheumatism and resulting disease of hear, caused by exposure and sleeping on the ground with out tents or camp equipment for a number of days. That he was treated in hospitals as follows: Never in hospital. That he has not been employed in the military or naval service otherwise than as stated above. That he has not been inthe military or naval service of the United States since the ...day of ....., 18 . That since leaving the service this applicant has resided in the County of Bradford in the state of Penn'a., and that his occupation has been that of a laborer. That prior to his entry into the service above named he was a man of good, sound, physical health, being when enrolled a laborer. That he is now wholly disabled from obtaining his subsistence by manual labor by reason of his injuries, above described, received in the service of the United States; and he therefore makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the invalid pension roll of the United States. He hereby appoints with full power of substitution and revocation, Emerson J. Cleveland, his true and lawful attorney to prosecute his claim. The he has never received nor applied for a pension; that his place of residence is Canton, Pa. and Post office address is Canton, Bradford County, Pa. Owen residing at Canton, Pa., persons whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who being by me duly sworn, say that they were present and saw Nehemiah Robinson, the claimant, sign his name (or make his mark) to the foregoing declaration; that they have every reason to believe from the appearance of said claimant and their accquaintance with him that he is the identical person he represents himself to be, and that they have no interest in the prosecution of this claim. J. E. Cleveland Notary Public WAR DEPARTMENT RECORD AND PENSION OFFICE Respectfully returned to the Commissioner of Pensions. Nehemiah Robinson, Capt. Chase's Co. D 132 Reg't Pa. Inf was enrolled August 1st, 1862 and deserted Sept. 13, 1862. The charge of desertion has not been removed nor is there are applications for its removal pending. From Enrol to desertion he held the rank of Private and during that period the rolls show him present except as follows: Oct. 31/62. Deserted Sept. 13, 1862 at Frederick. Co. w/out roll dated May 24, 1863, shows him deserted Sept. 14/62 at Frederick, Md. Personal description other than age 22 years not of record. No medical record found. Approved for rejection of alleged rheumatism and disease of heart on the ground of no title.
