Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Falls Township CHARLES D. BEANS merchant, P.O. Fallsington, was born in Lower Makefield township, Bucks county, April 11, 1827, being a son of Charles and Sarah (Buckman) Beans, natives of Bucks county, and of English and Welsh descent. His father was a tailor in early life and carried on business in this county for many years. He died in Fallsington in 1875. Charles D. is the youngest in a family of six children. He was reared on the farm, attended school in Bucks county, and chose farming as his business, following it with success until 1872, when he went to Philadelphia and engaged in the produce commission business for three years. In 1875 he came to Fallsington and engaged as a salesman in a store until 1882, when he bought the stock and continued the business. He keeps a general line of merchandise and has a good trade. He is a liberal, high-minded gentleman, deserving of success. He was married in 1851 to Mary T., daughter of Josiah and Rachel (Cadwalader) Comfort. They were members of the Society of Friends, and of English origin. They have two children: William, who is married, and follows farming; and Edward B., clerk in a store. Mr. Beans is a republican.
