Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 New Britain Township EDWARD CRESSMAN miller, P.O. Line Lexington, was born in Rockhill township in 1856. Philip and Annie (Gearhart) Cressman were the parents of five children, of whom Edwin was the second son. He was a student at the public schools until 15 years of age. He never served an apprenticeship before engaging in his present business. In 1885 he married Lizzie, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Leidy) Bachman. They have one child, Florence. Not enjoying the opportunities of many of the young men to-day, Mr. Cressman by his industry and perseverance has succeeded in establishing himself firmly in business, and is liberally patronized by his neighbors. In 1885 he purchased the mill property, where all kinds of flour and feed are produced. The mill is propelled by a twenty-horse power engine. Mr. Cressman is a member of the German Reformed church and a democrat.
