Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Richland Township A-M WILLIAM G. DIETZ baker, P.O. Quakertown, was born January 22, 1841, in Baden, Germany, and is a son of John Frederick Dietz. He emigrated to America when 11 years of age and came to Philadelphia, where he was reared to manhood by his uncle, John Frederick Bixenstein, of whom he learned the baker's trade, which he followed for some time before beginning business for himself. In April, 1876, he came to this place and after working here one year started in business. He has been ably assisted by his wife, whose maiden name was Philopena Grim, born also in Baden. She came to this country when young with her parents, Frederick and Christina (Gearing) Grim. Mr. Dietz began with his trade and what little means he had saved during his journey-work and has labored hard, working day and night, and by their united efforts and the exercise of the economy they have built up a remunerative business and own valuable property in the borough. Their children are: John F., Charles F., Henry C., Frank G., Wesley W., Samuel G., Joseph A., David F., Willie F. and Lena C. Mr. Dietz is a member of the Evangelical church.
