Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Bristol Township WILLIAM H. GRUDY manufacturer, P.O. Bristol, was born in Philadelphia in December, 1836. He is a son of Edmund and Rebecca (Hume) Grudy, the former born in England, and the latter in Hulmeville, this county. The father was a merchant in Philadelphia, and had four children. William H., the second child, attended select school, was a clerk in early life, and afterward in mercantile trade for himself in Philadelphia. In 1877 he began the manufacture of worsted yarn at Bristol, where he has been uniformly successful. He has done much to add to the prosperity of the borough. In politics he is a republican, and is burgess of Bristol borough. He is a member of the Masonic order. He was married in1861 to Mary R. Ridgeway. Their children are: Joseph R., clerk in his father's office, and Meta R., at home.
