Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Tinicum Township JOHN F. HILLPOT farmer, P.O. Erwinna. The grandfather of this gentleman came from Durham township, and settled on the farm now owned by Isaac Hillpot. He was a revolutionary soldier, and died shortly after the close of the war. His son John, father of John F., was born, lived and died in this township. He was an honest, industrious man, and for several years a deacon in the Lutheran church of Upper Tinicum. His wife was Mary, daughter of Michael Frederick, of Rockhill township. Their children were: Catherine, Elizabeth, Henry, Aaron, Angeine, Michael, Veronica, Mary Ann, and John F., who was born January 21, 1837. He worked for his father until after his marriage, after which he rented until 1873, when he removed to the place where he now lives. On December 30, 1862, he married Mary M., daughter of William F. Wyker, of this township. Mr. and Mrs. Hillpot are members of the Tinicum Evangelical Lutheran church, of which he was for six years a deacon.
