He received his professional education at the Jefferson Medical college at Philadelphia, where he was graduated April 2, 1883, receiving J. M. DaCosta's gold medal as a prize for a special thesis. His parents were Dr. John S. and Matilda A. Johnson, natives of Pennsylvania. Dr. Johnson was married October 23, 1885, to Miss Malvina A. King, of Philadelphia. The doctor is a republican politically.
