Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Rockhill Township THOMAS J. KERNS hotel keeper, P.O. Sellersville, was born in Swedeland village, Montgomery county, in 1850, and is a son of John and Catherine (Kennedy) Kerns. John Kerns was born in county Louth, Ireland, and was a farmer by occupation but also followed the commission business for a time. He married Catherine Kennedy, who was of Irish descent. Thomas J., the son of this couple, first engaged in the milk business, which he followed for five years in Philadelphia. He then engaged in the agricultural implement business, following that for three years, after which he came to Sellersville and is now the proprietor of the Sellersville hotel. He married Emma Jacoby and they are the parents of one child, Mary A. Mr. Kerns is a member of the Catholic church, and in politics a democrat.
