Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Falls Township EDWARD S. KIRKBRIDE Penn's Manor, farmer and seed-grower, P.O. Morrisville, was born in Columbia, Boone county, Missouri, in the year 1852. He is a son of Jonathan and Mary W. Kirkbride, both natives of Bucks county, descendants of Joseph Kirkbride, who came to America with William Penn in 1682, and was one of the earliest settlers of this county. The father of our subject went to Missouri when 20 years of age, and was a merchant in Columbia forty years, when he retired from business and removed with his family to Philadelphia. Edward S. was a clerk in the commission house of C. G. & W. M. Baugh, Market street, Philadelphia, for several years. In 1877, he preferring the country, his father purchased for him the farm on which he resides, and he engaged in farming and seed-growing with success. In 1878 he married Mary, daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Parsons) Robbins, of same place. They have one daughter, Mary Maud. He is a republican in politics.
