Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Solebury Township CHARLES T. KITCHEN merchant, P.O. New Hope, was born in Center Hill, Solebury township, December 25, 1846, and is a son of William B. and Mary A. (Alford) Kitchen. His grandfather was Phineas Kitchen, a teacher by profession, and a resident of the Northern Liberties, Philadelphia county. His father was a tailor, and in early manhood located at Center Hill, in this township, and continued in business there until his death. His children were: Emma, Anna, Susan, Jennie, Bertha, William (deceased), Charles T. and Addison. Charles T. was reared in Solebury township, and in 1881 located in New Hope, where he embarked in the mercantile business, which he has followed successfully to the present time. In 1873 he married Isabella, daughter of Edward and Catherine (Conover) Pickett, of New Hope, by whom he has six children: Elmer, Addison, Burleigh, Augustus, Eva and Jesse. He has one stepson, Joseph Holcombe. Mr. Kitchen is a member of the I. O. O. F., and politically is a republican.
