Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Haycock Township JACOB MEYERS retired farmer, P.O. Keller's Church, was born in Haycock township, January 27, 1807, and is a son of Jacob and Catherine (Younken) Meyers, and is the sixth son of seven children. He received his education in the common schools. In 1837 he married Caroline, daughter of Abraham and Catherine Zeigenfuss. In 1839 a daughter was born to them. Mr. Meyers was a farmer and distiller until the revenue tax law went into effect, and after that devoted his time exclusively to his farm until about 1870, when he retired and resigned his farm to his son-in-law, B. Frank Slifer. He is a democrat and a member of the Reformed church. His wife is a member of the Lutheran church.
