Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Springfield Township JOHN J. OTT physician, P.O. Pleasant Valley, was born in Pleasant Valley in the year 1852, at the old homestead. His father, who died in 1884, was a native of this county; his mother is still living, and is a native of Lancaster county. His maternal grandparents were John and Leah Good. His father was a son of John and Magdalena Ott, all natives of this county. Dr. Ott received his professional education at the Lehigh University in Bethlehem, and is a graduate of the medical department of the University of Pennsylvania, and holds a certificate from the Philadelphia Pharmaceutical examining board, a member of the State medical society, and vice-president of the County medical society. He is interested in telegraph lines, and is the general manager of a company in this county, and is one of the originators and directors of the Globe Mutual Live-stock insurance company, a new organization in the county, with a subscribed capital of $250,000. He is a republican. His brother, Charles Henry Ott, is city engineer of the city of Anniston, Alabama, and engineer-in-chief of the Anniston and Atlantic railroad.
