Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Solebury Township ISAIAH QUINBY retired, P.O. Lumberville, was born in Hunterdon county, N. J., September 5, 1814, and is a son of James and Margaret (Good) Quinby. His maternal grandfather was Robert Good, a pioneer of Plumstead township, Bucks county. Isaiah Quinby was reared in Hunterdon county, N. J., and located in Solebury in 1834. He learned the milling business at Lumberton with his brother-in-law, John ?. He followed this as an occupation for twenty-five years, after which he retired. He married Ruth, a daughter of Crispin and Mary (Shaw) Scarborough, of Solebury, by whom he had three children: Wilmot, Mary and Margaret. Mr. Quinby and wife are members of the Society of Friends at Solebury meeting. He has held the office of school director of Solebury township for nine years. In politics he is a republican.
