Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Haycock Township GEORGE SCHEETZ merchant, P.O. Applebachsville, is a member of one of the oldest families in this part of Bucks county, and was born in this county in 1859. George Scheetz, his grandfather, married Hester Fluck, by whom he had eight sons and one daughter. Charles, who was the sixth child, married Magdalena, daughter of John Hager, of Bucks county. Eight children, all of whom are living, were born to this marriage. George is the fourth child born to his parents, who are now aged respectively 63 and 57 years. Charles Sheetz was more than 40 years engaged in the mercantile business, which his sons have now taken up, and are following in the footsteps of their father, who has had a long and successful career in that business. George Scheetz left school at the age of 17 years to engage in business. He clerked for his father and brother until 1883, when he engaged in business for himself at Keller's Church, and remained there four years. In 1887 he located at Applebachsville, where he carries on a general merchandise business. He is an active young man, full of push and energy, and is a member of the Masonic order, and the Improved Order of Red Men. Politically he is a democrat.
