Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Falls Township ISHA V. SMITH retired farmer, P.O. Morrisville, son of Benjamin and Sarah (Van Cleve) Smith, was born near Pennington, N. J., November 20, 1832. His parents were natives of New Jersey, and of English origin. His father was a farmer and afterward a merchant in Trenton, N. J. Our subject was the only child. He was educated in select schools at Trenton. He was a clerk in a Philadelphia dry goods store two years, but has made farming his principal occupation. He was one of the originators of the rubber works at Morrisville, and served as secretary two years. He sold his farm in 1886 and in 1887 moved to Morrisville. He was married in 1854 to Elizabeth, daughter of William and Hannah Atchley, natives of New Jersey and of German origin. They had one child, Benjamin, who died at the age of 18. In politics Mr. Smith is a democrat.
