Battle; A. Warner & Co.; 1887 Durham Township D. R. WILLIAMSON merchant, P.O. Riegelsville, was born in Hunterdon county, N. J., April 29, 1839, and is of German descent, through his father, Abraham Williamson, who was born in New Jersey in 1783. He was a weaver by occupation, but also followed teaching. In 1823 he married Elizabeth Rittenhouse, who was born in 1802, in Hunterdon county. The issue of this marriage was Moses B. and Daniel R., our subject; Moses B. being at present employed at Lambertville, N. J. Daniel R. was married August 6, 1859, to Emma E. Sherrer. They are the parents of one child, Mercy, born February 25, 1873. Mr. D. R. Williamson was a teacher in the county for twenty-three years, and has been engaged in the mercantile business for twelve years, teaching part of this time. He has been a resident of the immediate vicinity of his present home for twenty-eight years, and is now justice of the peace at Riegelsville. He is a member of the Lutheran church. He stands high in the opinion of the community, and is a public spirited citizen.
