Henry Marjoram to Henry Baker, 1696 To all People before whom these presents shall come Know Ye that Henry Marjoram of the County of Bucks and province of Pennsylvania Yeoman for and in consideration of the sum of forty two pounds ten shillings current silver money of the aforesaid Province to him in hand paid by Henry Baker of the aforesaid County and Province Yeoman the receipt whereof the said Henry Marjoram doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth acquit and discharge the said Henry Baker his heirs executors and administrators forever by these presents hath given granted aliened bargained sold enfeofed and confirmed and by these presents doth fully freely clearly and absolutely give grant alien bargain sell enfeof and confirm unto the said Henry Baker a certain tract of land containing and laid out for two hundred and fifty acres and is situate in the said County of Bucks ~~ Beginning at a corner tree standing by Delaware River thence running West seven degrees Northerly six hundred eighty four perches by a line of Marked trees (on the side of a highway which was laid out at the first survey of the said land) to a corner tree thence by a line of marked trees North forty two perches to a corner tree thence East two degrees thirty minutes Northerly five hundred ninety two perches to a corner tree standing by the said River Delaware thence down the several courses of the said River to the first mentioned corner tree which said land the said Henry Marjoram lately had and purchased to him his heirs and assigns forever of and from Richard Hough of the aforesaid County and Province Yeoman by his deed bearing date under his hand and seal the first day of the fourth month 1688 and all the estate right title interest use possession claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Henry Marjoram of in and to the same with the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all deeds evidences and writing which do concern the said premises alone To Have and To Hold the said two hundred and fifty acres of land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Henry Baker his heirs and assigns forever to the only use and behoofe of the said Henry Baker his heirs and assigns forever Under the yearly rents due or to become due to the Chief Lord or Lords of the Soyle of the said land and premises and the said Henry Marjoram and his heirs the said two hundred and fifty acres of land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Henry Baker and his heirs against him the said Henry Marjoram and his heirs shall and will warrant and by these presents forever defend And also that he the said Henry Marjoram his heirs and assigns shal and will at any time within the space of seven years now next ensueing at the request costs and charges of him the said Henry Baker his heirs and assigns make do and execute or cause or procure to be made done and executed all such further and other act and acts thing and things conveyances and assurances in the law whatsoever for the further assuring and conveying of the said land and premises unto the said Henry Baker his heirs and assigns as by his and their counsel learned in the law shall be lawfully and reasonably devised advised and required so as the persons so requested be not compelled or compellable for the doing thereof to travel above ten English Miles from their respective habitations at the time of such request made nor enter into any further covenant or warranty for his or their heirs but against heir own respective act and acts and against the acts of their respective heirs. In Witness Whereof the said Henry Marjoram hath hereunto put his hand and seal the eighth day of the fourth month one thousand six hundred ninety six 1696.
