Deed: Randal Blackshaw to Nehemiah Blackshaw, 1698 This Indenture made the second day of the first month anno Domi one thousand six hundred ninety eight between Randal Blackshaw of the county of Bucks and province of Pennsylvania, yeoman of the one part and Nehemiah Blackshaw son of the said Randal Blackshaw on the other part wittnesseth that the said Randal Blackshaw for the natural love & affection that he hath and beareth to his said son Nehemiah Blackshaw and for and in consideration of the yearly payments hereunder mentioned according to the letter and purport of these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Nehemiah Blackshaw his heirs and assigns under the condition hereafter in these presents Specified all that tract of land which he now liveth upon beginning at a corner of Peter Websters land thence by the several angles and courses of the said Websters land about two hundred eighty four perches thence south fifty six perches and there fourths of a perch thence east until the line meet with the line of the land that now Joseph Kirkbride liveth upon at the road that leads between the meeting house belonging to the Falls of Delaware and the meeting house near NeÉhaminah thence by the several courses of the road as far as the said road shall extend through the land of the said Joseph Kirkbride now lives upon thence much to the first mentioned corner as also another parcel of land lying and being in the aforesaid county of Bucks beginning at a corner stake thence north one hundred and eighty perches to a post by the meadow side now the land of Joseph Kirkbride thence west thirteen perches and a half by the said meadow side thence north seventy two perches to a corner tree thence west one hundred thirty four perches to a corner white oak thence south one hundred and ninety perches to a white oak thence east sixty two perches to the first mentioned stake containing and laid out one hundred and twelve acres which said parcels of land Joseph Kirkbride by his deed poll bearing date the day before the date of these presents did grant in fee simple to the said Randall Blackshaw for the consideration therein mentioned together with all the messuages and tenements houses barns or other buildings orchards gardens meadows or meadow land ways waters watercourses privileges improvements and all other the advantages and appurtenances whatsoever to the first mentioned parcell of land by the same more or less and the said one hundred and twelve acres belonging or in any wise appertaining and all the estate right title interest use posession profitts claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Randal Blackshaw of in and to the same with the reversions remainders rents issues and profits thereof To have and to hold the said two pieces or parcels of land and premises with the appurtenances to the said Nehemiah Blackshaw and his heirs to the only use of him the said Nehemiah Blackshaws his heirs and assigns forever upon and under the condition following and not otherwise that is to say that he the said Nehemiah Blackshaw his heirs executors administrators or assigns shall pay unto the said Randall Blackshaw or his assigns the full and just sum of twenty pounds currant silver money every year during the natural life of the said Randel Blackshaw and under the rents due or to become due to the proprietarie his heirs or successors Provided always and it is agreed between the said parties to these presents of themselves their heirs and assigns that if default shall be made of any of the said yearly payments contrary to the form above limited in these presents that then and at all times from and after any such default made these present indentures and the grant bargain and sale thereby made of all and singular the premises and also the records thereof shall be utterly void and frustrate and that then and from thenceforth it shall and may be lawful for the said Randall Blackshaw his heirs and assigns unto the said parcels of land to reenter and the same to have again as in the former estate of the said Randall Blackshaw and shall thereof stand and be seized to the only use of him the said Randall Blackshaw his heirs and assigns forever And further that he the said Randall Blackshaw or his assigns upon every payment aforesaid shall and will make and deliver to the persons that shall make any such payment one sufficient acquittance certifying the receipt of the sum so then paid on witness whereof the parties to these presents have to these present indentures their hands and seals interchangeably set the day and year first written 1698/9. Recorded as above Phineas Pemberton NOTES These were probably the same three parcels that Randal had deeded to him from Joseph Kirkbride at the same session. The deeds were acknowledged and delivered at the Court session of the "8th day of the first month, 1699." Colonial Society, BUCKS CO.
