Deed: Stephen Twining to Job Bunting, 1695 To all People before whom these presents shall come Know Yee that Job Bunting of New Town in the County of Bucks and Province of Pennsylvania Carpenter for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty pounds current money of the aforesaid Province to him in hand paid by Stephen Twining of the said town and County husbandman the receipt whereof the said Job Bunting doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth acquit and discharge the said Stephen Twining his heirs executors and administrators forever he the said Job Bunting hath given granted aliened bargained sold enfeofed and confirmed and by these presents doeth absolutely give grant alien bargain sell enfeof and confirm to the said Stephen Twining his heirs and assigns A certain tract of land lying in New Town aforesaid Beginning at a corner tree standing at the head of the Town Lot near Buckmans land thence North and by East fifty five rods and three quarters to a corner tree thence by the said Buckmans Town Lot South and by East one hundred forty four rods to a corner three thence West and by South fifty five rods and three quarters to a corner tree thence West and by North twenty rods to a corner tree thence West twenty one degrees Southerly two hundred and ninty rods to a corner tree standing by Neshaminah Creek side thence up the several courses of the said creek to a corner marked tree standing in the aforsaid Buckmans line thence along the said line East four degrees Northerly one hundred fifty four rods to the place of Beginning laid out for two hundred twenty and two acres as also one piece of meadow land Beginning at a corner tree in Thomas Constables line thence by a line of trees West forty degrees Northerly eighty six rods to a corner marked tree thence by a line of trees South seventeen degrees Westerly seventy eight rods to a corner tree standing in the aforesaid Constables line thence by the said line North five degrees Easterly forty two rods to the place of Beginning laid out for Twenty six acres the whole of both parcels surveyed and laid out for two hundred and forty eight acres as also the benefit and privilege of a way for carting carrying loading and driving to and from the aforesaid meadow land to the new dwelling home of the said Job Bunting in as free and ample manner as was therefore granted to the said Job Bunting with the before mentioned two tracts of land by a Deed from Henry Baker dated the eight day of the forth month one thousand six hundred ninety two and all the estate right title interest use posession property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Job Bunting of in and to the premises To Have and To Hold the said two hundred forty eight acres of land and premises and the said benefit of or way with all improvements made on the same land to the said Stephen Twining his heirs and assigns forever At or under the yearly rents due or to become due to the Chief Lord of the Soyle of the said land and premises And the said Job Bunting doth covenant promise and grant for himself and his heirs that they the said two hundred forty eight acres of land and premises to him the said Stephen Twining his heirs and assigns against him the said Job Bunting and his heirs and against all other persons claiming and to claim by from or under him them or any of them or by his their or any of their means privity procurement or consent shall and will warrant and by these presents forever defend And that the said Job Bunting hath not done acted or suffered any act cause or thing whatsoever whereby the said granted premises or any part thereof is or can shall or may be by any means lawfully impeached charged or incumbered in any manner of will whatsoever In Witness Whereof the said Job Bunting hath hereunto put his hand and seal the tenth day of the tenth month one thousand six hundred ninety five 1695. The within conveyance was by the within named Job Bunting acknowledged and delivered in open Court In the County of Bucks unto the within named Stephen Twining. Certified under my hand and County seal Recorded the 3 day of the 2 month 1696. Phineas Pemberton Com. NOTES A first note accompanying the transfer, recorded Bucks County Recorders, Book B-1, p. 52, states: Stephen Twining to Job Bunting Know all men by these Presents That I Stephen Twining of Newtown in the County of Bucks and Province of Pennsylvania husbandman do stand and firmly bounden and obligated to Job Bunting of the said County and Province Carpenter in the sum of sixty pounds current silver money of the said Province to be paid to the said Job Bunting or to his true and lawful Attorney Executors or administrators to the which payment will truly and faithfully to be paid I do bind me my heirs executors and administrators firmly by these presents Sealed with my seal dated the eleventh day of the tenth month one thousand six hundred ninety five The Condition of this obligation is such that if the above bounden Stephen Twining his heirs executors or administrators or any of them do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the above named Job Bunting his executors administrators or assigns the full and just sum of thirty pounds currant silver money of the aforesaid Province or in good and clear winter wheat delivered at the Mill of Samuel Carpenter against Burlington in the aforesaid County equivalent thereto in value at or before the twenty fifth day of the first month which shall be in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred ninety seven that then this obligation be void and of none effect else the same to stand remain and be in full force and virtue. Sealed and Delivered in the presence of us Enoch Yardley Jonathan Scaife Recorded the 13 day of the 2 month 1696 the mark of E Stephen Twining A second note, recorded Bucks County Recorders, Book B-1, pp. 52-3, states: Stephen Twining to Job Bunting Know all men by these presents that I Stephen Twining of Newtown in the County of Bucks and Province of Pennsylvania husbandman do stand and am firmly bounden and obligated to Job Bunting of the said County and Province Carpenter in the sum of sixty pounds currant silver money of the said Province to be paid to the said Job Bunting or his true and lawful attorney Executors or Administrators to the which payment will truly and faithfully to be paid I do bind me my heirs executors and administrators firmly by these presents sealed with my seal dated the eleventh day of the tenth month one thousand six hundred ninety five 1695 The Condition of this obligation is such that if the above bonden Stephen Twining his heirs executors or administrators or any of them do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the above named Job Bunting his executors administrators assigns the full and just sum of thirty pounds current silver money of the aforesaid province or in good and clean winter wheat delivered at the mill of Daniel Carpenter against Burlington in the aforesaid County equivalent thereto in order at or before the twenty fifth day of the first month which shall be in the year of our Lord one thousand and six hundred ninety eight that there this obligation be void and of none effect else the same to stand remain and be in full force and virtue. COURTS, which states: a deed in fee of 248 acres of land dated the 10th day of the 10th month 1695 acknowledged & delivered by Job Bunting Grantor to Stephen Twineing Grantee
