Indenture: Walter Pumphrey to Job Bunting, 1702 This Indenture Made the Sixteenth day of the Fifth Month in ye year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and two Between Walter Pumphrey of the County of Bucks and Province of Pennsylvania Carpenter of the one party And Job Bunting of the same County and Province Yeoman of the other party Whereas Clement Dungan Thomas Dungan Jeremiah Dungan and John Dungan sons and heirs of Thomas Dungan sometime of the said County of Bucks deceased by their Deed under their hands and seals bearing date the second day of the Second Month in the year of our Lord 1698 for a consideration therein specified did give grant alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Walter Pumphrey and to his heirs and assigns forever A certain tract of land lying and being in the said County of Bucks Beginning at a corner tree of Joseph Large his land thence running North Northwest by a line of trees three hundred and twenty perches to a corner tree thence North East by a line of trees one hundred perches to a corner tree thence South Southeast by land formerly Mordecai Bowdens three hundred and twenty perches to the place of Beginning Surveyed and laid for two hundred acres of land by force and virtue whereof the said Walter Pumphrey became intressted and possessed in and of the said land together with all the buildings improvements and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging as by the same deed doth at large appear. Now this Indenture witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and forty pounds current silver money in hand paid or secured to be paid by the said Job Bunting the receipt whereof he the said Walter Pumphary do hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part thereof do clearly acquit and forever discharge the said Job Bunting his heirs executors administrators and assigns he the said Walter Pumphrey have given granted aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents do give grant alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Job Bunting the above mentioned two hundred acres of land with all the messuages tenements houses barnes stables orchards gardens meadows ways waters water courses fences privileges advantages and all other the improvements and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging together with all the estate right title interest use posession property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Walter Pumphrey in and to the same with all and singular the rents remainders reversions issues and profits thereof and all and singular the warrants surveys returns Patents deeds writings and Court Rolls whatsoever concerning the same as be now in the hands custody and possession of him the said Walter Pumphrey or any other person or persons whatsoever To Have and to hold the said two hundred acres of land and all other the hereby granted premises and appurtenances unto the said Job Bunting an dot the only use and behoof of him the said Job Bunting his heirs and assigns forever under the yearly rents form henceforth to become due to the Proprietary his heirs And the said Walter Pumphrey do covenant promise and grant for himself his heirs executors and administrators that he the said two hundred acres of land and premises to him the said Job bunting his heirs and assigns against him the said Walter Pumphrey and his heirs and against all other persons claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them their or any of their heirs or by their or any of their means privity procurement or consent shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents free and clear and freely and clearly acquitted and discharged of all by you Quit rents taxes levies and all other duties and other encumbrances whatsoever And the said Walter Pumphrey have hereby appointed and authorized William Beakes his lawful Attorney in the name and behalf and as the act and deed of him the said Walter Pumphrey to acknowledge and deliver these presents in open Court to to hold for the said County of bucks according to law in that case made and provided. In witness whereof he the said Walter Pumphrey to this present Indenture have set his hand and seal the day and year first above written 1702.
