Deed: Jos Kirkbride to Jos Burges, 1707 To all People before whom these presents shall come Joseph Kirkbride of ye County of Bucks in ye Province of Pennsylvania Yeoman Sendeth Greeting Whereas there is a certain lot of land Situate and being in ye town of Bristol and County of Bucks aforesaid Beginning at a corner post standing at ye corner of Cedar Street and Mulberry Street from thence by ye Southerly side of Cedar Street it runs five perches and three quarters of a perch to another post being a corner of Samuel Burges his lot thence by ye said Samuel Burges lot it runs six perches and three quarters of a perch to another corner post from thence it runs five perches and three quarters of a perch to another corner post standing at ye side of Mulberry Street aforesaid from thence by ye side of ye same Street it runs six perches and three quarters of a perch to ye side of ye same Street it runs six perches and three quarters of a perch to ye first mentioned post ye place of Beginning which said lot of land is one moiety or half share of a lot that was granted and conveyed unto ye said Joseph Kirkbride and to his heirs and assigns forever by Thomas Brock of ye same County of Bucks Yeoman as by a certain conveyance duly executed under his hand and seal bearing date ye eighteenth day of ye eight month in ye year 1699 and recorded in ye Rolls office for ye County aforesaid in Book B, Vol. 1, page 261-262 may at large appear Now Know Ye that ye said Joseph Kirkbride for and in consideration of ye sum of fifteen pounds current money of Pennsylvania aforesaid unto him in hand paid before ye sealing and delivery of these presents by Joseph Burges of ye aforesaid town of Bristol Husbandman ye receipt whereof he ye said Joseph Kirkbride doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and every part thereof doth clearly acquit exonerate and discharge ye said Joseph Burges his heirs executors administrators and assigns and every of them forever by these presents hath given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth fully clearly and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto ye said Joseph Burges ye said lot of land (Situate bounded and being as hereinabove is set down and described) with ye privileges profits commodities Hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to ye said granted lot of land belonging or in any wise appertaining and all ye estate right title interest use possession property claim and demand whatsoever either in law or equity of him ye said Joseph Kirkbride of in or out of ye same or any part or parcel thereof Together with ye reversions remainder and remainders of ye same and of every part thereof To Have and To Hold ye said lot of land and all other ye hereby granted premises and appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof unto ye said Joseph Burges and his heirs and assigns to ye only proper use and behoof of him the said Joseph Burges and his heirs and assigns forever Under ye yearly quirt rent hereafter accruing for ye same to ye Chief Lord of ye fee thereof And ye said Joseph Kirkbride for himself his heirs executors administrators and every of them doth covenant grant promise and agree to and with ye said Joseph Burges his heirs executors administrators and assigns and every of them by these presents that he ye said Joseph Kirkbride his heirs executors and administrators at all times hereafter ye said lot of land and all other ye premises hereby granted and every part and parcel thereof unto ye said Joseph Burges his heirs and assigns against him ye said Joseph Kirkbride and his heirs and against all other persons whatsoever claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof he ye said Joseph Kirkbride hath hereunto set his hand and seal dated ye one and twentieth day of ye Second Month called April in ye Sixth year of ye reign of Queen Anne over England &c and in ye year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seven 1707. Joseph Kirkbride (seal) Sealed and Delivered in ye presence of us William Biles Jer Langhorne Be it remembered that ye Eleventh day of June Anno Domini 1707 before me Thomas Stevenson one of the Justices of the Peace in ye County of Bucks came ye within named Joseph Kirkbride in his proper persons and then and there brought this writing or conveyance which he acknowledged to be his deed and desired that ye same may be enrolled or recorded as his deed according to an act of assembly of this Province lately made and provided. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal ye day and year first above written. Tho Stevenson (seal) Be it remembered that I Jeremiah Langhorne Recorder of Deeds for ye County of Bucks was present when ye above named Joseph Kirkbride did before ye said Justice acknowledge ye said writing to be his deed whereupon ye said Justice having certified ye said acknowledgment made ye day and year and in manner aforesaid did deliver ye said writing to me to be entered of record and ye same is recorded ye twenty third day of October Anno Domini 1707.
