Kirkbride, 1697 Know all men by these presents that Randal Blackshaw of the county of Bucks and province of Pennsylvania yeoman for the consideration of the sum of four hundred pounds current silver money of the aforesaid province to him in hand paid by Joseph Kirkbride of the aforesaid county & province yeoman the receipt whereof the said Randal Blackshaw doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth acquit and discharge the said Joseph Kirkbride his heirs executors & administrators forever he the said Randal Blackshaw hath given granted aliened bargained sold enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth fully freely clearly and absolutely give grant alien bargain sell enfeoff and confirm unto the said Joseph Kirkbride his heirs and assigns a certain peice or parcel of land lying and being in the aforesaid county of Bucks being bounded on the west side with the land formerly Atkinsons and Mananges on the north with the land formerly the Smiths on the east with the land formerly the Dells and Rowlands on the south with the lands formerly vacant which said tract of land was laid out by warrant from William Penn proprietarie and governor as part of his lands he the said Randal Blackshaw did purchase from James Harrison late of the aforesaid county of Bucks deceased as by deeds of lease and release bearing date the thirteenth day of the sixth month and the first day of the seventh month one thousand six hundred eighty two and all the estate right title interest use posession propertie claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Randal Blackshaw of in and to the said tract of land containing and laid out for five hundred acres with the reversions remainders rents issues and profits thereof and of all buildings fencings meadow lands and orchards and other improvements thereon made except one hundred acres of land heretofore laid out of the said tract unto John Smith and sold to the said Smith by the said Randal Blackshaw and except also one hundred and ten acres formerly sold by said Blackshaw and surveyed out of the said tract to Ralph Cowgill To have and to hold the said two hundred and ninety acres of land and premises with the appurtenances and every part and parcel of the same to him the said Joseph Kirkbride his heirs and assigns to the only use and behoof of him the said Joseph Kirkbride his heirs and assigns forever Under the yearly rents from henceforth to become due to the proprietarie and his heirs for the said two hundred and ninety acres of land And the said Randal Blackshaw doth covenant promise and grant for himself and his heirs that they the said two hundred and ninety acres of land and premises to him the said Joseph Kirkbride and his heirs against him the said Randal Blackshaw and his heirs and against all other persons claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them or by his their or any of their means privities or procurement or consent shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents And that the said Randal Blackshaw and his heirs and assigns shall and will at any time within the space of seven years now next ensuing the date of these presents at the request and charges of the said Joseph Krikbride his heirs or assigns make do and execute or cause or procure to be made done & executed all such further and other acts things conveyances and assurances in the law whatsoever for the further assuring and conveying of the said two hundred and ninety acres of land and premises to the said Joseph Kirkbride his heirs and assigns as by his their or any of their counsel learned in the law shall be lawfully and reasonably devised advised or requried so as the persons thus requested be not compelled or compellable for the doing thereof to travel above ten english miles from their respective habitation at the time of such request made and that the same contain no other or further warrantie or covenant but against him the said Randal Blackshaw and against his respective heirs In witness whereof the said Randal Blackshaw hath hereunto put his hand & seal the first day of the first month one thousand six hundred ninety six 1696/7 Randal Blackshaw (seal) Sealed and delivered in the presence of us Jacob Janney Enoch Yardley Joseph Milnor Bucks ss (County seal) The 10th day of the first month 1696/7 the within conveyance was by the within named Randal Blackshaw delivered in open Court of the aforesaid county unto the within named Joseph Kirkbride Certified under my hand & county seal Phineas Pemberton Cl Com The 1 day 1/mo 1696 Recd thereof the within mentioned Joseph Kirkbride the within mentioned sum of four hundred pounds being the full of the within mentioned consideration money I say rec'd by me Randal Blackshaw Witness Phineas Pemberton Joseph Milnor Enoch Yardley Recorded the 6th day 2/mo 1697 NOTES The deed was acknowledged and delivered at the Court session of the 8th day of the 1st month, 1696/7."
