Deed: Jos Kirkbride to Ed Mayos, 1704 To all People before whom these presents shall come Joseph Kirkbride of ye County of bucks in ye Province of Pennsylvania Yeoman Sendeth Greeting Whereas there are two certain lots of Situate lying and being in ye town of Bristol and County aforesaid ye one Beginning at a corner post standing on ye South side of Ratclif Street being a corner of Anthony Burtons Lot for thence it runs fronting ye said Street two perches to another post being a corner of Joseph Kirkbride aforesaid his lot from thence by ye same lot it runs South twenty seven degrees East to ye side of ye River Delaware from thence up ye said Rivers side two perches to ye said Burtons lot from thence it runs by ye same lot North twenty seven degrees West to ye first place of Beginning which lot was granted and confirmed unto Jeremiah Dungan and to his heirs and assigns by conveyance under ye hand and seal of ye said Burton of ye same place Yeoman bearing date ye fifth day of ye fifth Month in year 1698 and since by conveyance under ye hand and seal of ye said Jeremiah Dungan dated ye ninth and twentieth day of ye Sixth Month in ye year 1701 ye same lot was granted and confirmed unto ye said Joseph Kirkbride and to his heirs and assigns forever The other Lot begins at a corner post of ye afore described lot from thence it runs fronting Ratclif Street four perches wanting five links to another corner post being a corner of Thomas Brooks lot from thence it runs South twenty seven degrees East to ye aforesaid Riverside from thence up ye said River side it runs four perches want five links to ye first mentioned Lot thence by ye same Lot it runs North twenty seven degrees West to ye place of Beginning which said lot was by conveyance under ye hand and seal of ye said Thomas Brock bearing date ye eighteenth day of ye eight Month in ye year 1699 likewise granted and confirmed to ye said Joseph Kirkbride to ye said Joseph Kirkbride and to his heirs and assigns forever as by ye same conveyance recorded in ye Rolls office for ye said County in Book B Vol 1 page 261 may at large appear Now Know Ye that ye said Joseph Kirkbride for and in consideration of ye sum of two hundred pounds current money of Pennsylvania aforesaid to him in hand paid before ye sealing and delivery of these by Edward Mayos of ye town of Bristol aforesaid weaver ye receipt whereof he ye said Joseph Kirkbride doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part thereof doth clearly acquit exonerate and discharge ye said Edward Mayos his heirs executors administrators and assigns and every of them forever by these presents hath given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth fully clearly and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto ye said Edward Mayos all and singular ye aforementioned lot of land Situate bounded and being as herein above is set down and described Together with ye Bolting Mill and all houses tenements buildings wharfs ways improvements commodities and hereditaments whatsoever to ye same belonging or in any wise appertaining with ye reversions remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all deeds evidences writings and evidences whatsoever that only and alone concern ye premises or any part of ye same and all ye right title interest use possession property claim and demand whatsoever of him ye said Joseph Kirkbride in or to ye same To Have and To Hold ye said two lots of land and all other ye hereby granted premises and appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof unto ye said Edward Mayos and his heirs to ye only proper use and behoof of him ye said Edward Mayos his heirs and assigns forever Under ye yearly quit rent hereafter accruing for ye same to ye chief Lord of ye fee thereof And ye said Joseph Kirkbride for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant grant promise and agree to and with ye said Edward Mayos his heirs executors administrators and assigns and every of them by these that he ye said Joseph Kirkbride his heirs executors and administrators from time to time and at all times hereafter ye said two lots of land and all and singular ye premises hereby granted with ye appurtenances thereunto belonging and every part and parcel of ye same unto ye said Edward Mayos his heirs and assigns against him ye said Joseph Kirkbride and his heirs and against all other persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof he ye said Joseph Kirkbride hath hereunto set his hand and seal ye fifth day of ye third Month called May Anno Domini 1704. Joseph Kirkbride (seal) Sealed and Delivered in ye presence of us Tho Brock Mahlon Stacy Wm Beakes Received ye 5th day of May 1704 of Edward Mayos ye sum of two hundred pounds and is in full of ye within mentioned consideration I say received by me £200 Joseph Kirkbride Witness Tho. Brock Mahlon Stacy Be it remembered that ye eleventh day of December in ye year of our Lord one thousand hundred and six before me Samuel Darke one of ye Justices of ye Peace of ye County of Bucks came ye within named Joseph Kirkbride in proper person and then and their brought this writing or conveyance which he acknowledged to be his deed and desired that ye same may be enrolled or recorded as his deed according to an act of Assembly of this Province lately made and provided. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal ye day and year first above written Samuel Dark (seal) Be it remembered that I Jeremiah Langhorne Recorder of Deeds for ye County of Bucks was present when ye above named Joseph Kirkbride did before ye said Justice acknowledge ye said writing to be his deed Whereupon ye said Justice having certified ye said acknowledgment made ye day and year in manner aforesaid did deliver ye said writing to me to be entered of record and ye same is recorded the twenty sixth day of December Anno Domini 1706.
