Deed: Jos Kirkbride to Peter Webster, 1696 Know all men by these presents that Joseph Kirkbride of the county of Bucks and province of Pennsylvania yeoman and for the consideration of the sum of thirteen pounds ten shillings current silver money of the aforesaid province in hand paid by Peter Webster of the aforesaid county of Bucks husbandman the receipt whereof the said Joseph Kirkbride doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth acquit and discharge the said Peter Webster his heirs executors and administrators forever he the said Joseph Kirkbride hath given granted aliened bargained sold enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth fully freely clearly and absolutely give grant alien bargain sell enfeoff and confirm unto the said Peter Webster his heirs and assigns a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the aforesaid county of Bucks beginning at a corner by the widow Lucas land thence by the same twenty eight perches and one eight of a perch to a corner thence by the land of Samuel Dark south twenty eight perches and one ninth of a perch to a corner thence by the land of sd Joseph Kirkbride west about eighty five rods to a stake standing by the easterly side of the meadow thence from the said stake to the easterly end of a ditch that lies across the sd meadow thence by the said ditch to the westerly side of the said meadow thence to an oak about fiveteen and a half rods from the said ditch and about nine rods from the westerly side of the said meadow in the west line first mentioned on this side of the said tract of land thence west to the first mentioned corner being the place of beginning Containing and laid out for about fifty one acres and a half be it more or less Being part of a tract of land granted and confirmed to Edward Smith and his heirs by patent from William Markham and John Goodson bearing date the sixth day of the second month anno Domi 1689 and by the said Smith Granted to Joseph Kirkbride and confirmed to him and his heirs by a deed dated the tenth day of the third month 1689 and all the estate right title intrest use posession propertie claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Joseph Kirkbride of in and to the same with the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders unto issues and profits To have and to hold the said fifty one acres and a half be it more or less of land and premises with the appurtenances and every part and parcel of the same to him the said Peter Webster his heirs and assigns to the only use and behoof of him the said Peter Webster his heirs and assigns forever Under the yearly rents due or to become due to the chief land or lords of the soil of the said land and premises And the said Joseph Kirkbride doth covenant promise and grant for himself and his heirs that they the said fifty acres with the overplus be it more or lass of land and premises to him the said Peter Webster and his heirs against him the said Joseph Kirkbride and his heirs and against all other persons claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them or by his their or any of their means privitie procurement or consent shall and will warrant and by these presents forever defend And that the said Joseph Kirkbride and his heirs shall and will at any time within the space of seven years now next ensuing the date of these presents at the request and charges of the said Peter Webster his heirs and assigns make do and execute or cause to procure to be made done and executed all such further and other acts things conveyances and assurances in the law whatsoever for the further assuring and conveying of the said fifty acres and overplus be it more or less of land and premises to the said Peter Webster his heirs and assigns as by his their or any of their counsel learned in the law shall be lawfully and reasonably devised advised or requried so as the persons thus requested be not compelled or compellable for the doing thereof to travel above ten english miles from their respective habitations at the time of such request made and that the same contain no other or further warrantie or covenant but against him the sd Joseph Kirkbride and against his respective heirs In witness whereof the sd Joseph Kirkbride hath hereunto put his hand and seal the eight day of the tenth month one thousand six hundred ninety six 1696 Joseph Kirkbride (seal) Sealed and delivered in the presence of us Samuel Dark James f Moone his mark Bucks ss (County seal) The 5th day of the 8th month 1697 the above conveyance was by the above named Joseph Kirkbride delivered in open court unto the within named Peter Webster Certified under my hand & county seal Phineas Pemberton Co Com Recorded the 11th 10th mo 1697
