I 3 Reg' PA Inf and mustered out 14 Sept 1864 with detachment as part of Co. F 54 PA Inf WIDOW'S PENSION 29 Apr 1908 Susanna Brudon age 71 residen of Camden, NJ widow of Jospeh Brudon who enlisted 13 Sept 1861 private Co. F 54 PA Vol in Co. H of the 3 Reg't of US Vet Vol Inf. honorably discharged 18 Dec 1865 and died 12 Feb 1870. says enlisted 27 Apr 1861 in Co. K 4th NJ Militia discharge 31 July 1861 When married her name was Susanna Gordon, married 22 Dec 1858 by Rev. E. J. Way at Bristol, PA. No prior marriage of either. MAGISTRATES' LETTER 20 May 1891 She says her mother died Sept 1880. "Her late husband Joseph Brudon was commissioned December 18, 1865 at Camp Butler, Illionis. First sergeant in Company "H" 3rd Reg't US Vet. Vol. Infantry..." 2nd Half of NOTES from Pension Dept. (1st half not found) 26 Jun 1908 ...transferred July 64 from Co 2 Batt'l Vet and Re?? 3 PA Res. Inf to which attachment May 1864.. The 3 Reg. Pa Res. Inf was known also as 32 Reg PA Vols. Joseph Brudon Co H 3rd Regt US V V Inf age 31 height 6 feet complexion and hair dark, eyes gray, born Bristol, PA occupation waterman. Enrolled 6 Mar 65 and mustered out 5 Mar 1866. Rolls show him as private and as sergeant. Medical records show 10 Oct to 26, 1861 Febris remittus, wounded during the Seven Days battle 26 Jun to 2 July 1862; treated 6 Jun 63 for rhumatism and 28 Jul 64 for same. LETTER 26 SEPT 1916 from Susanna Brudon states she is widow of Jospeh Brudon. She was born in Philadelphia 25 Jan 1837 and is in her 80th year. Husband Joseph Brudon was born in Jan 1834 at Bristol, Bucks Co., PA. Her residence at the time of the letter was 609 State St., Camden, NJ NOTICE OF RETURN OF CHECK 6 Nov 1919 notice says pension check returned by post office because pensioner died 23 Oct 1919. AFFIDAVIT 11 Aug 1890 Sallie Wollard age 48, resident of Bristol and Lizzie S. Bewley age 46 resident same were present at marriage of Jospeh Brudon and Susanna Gordon and are longtime friends. AFFIDAVIT 12 Aug 1890 George W. Gordon age 47, resident of Phila. (521 Enterprise?) and Anna G. Hook age 22 years, resident Phila (1426 S. 45h St.?) Have known Susannah about 40 years and 16 respectively. She has no personal estate. AFFIDAVIT 16 Jun 1908 Henry S. Gordon age 60 resident of Camden, NJ (609 State St.) and Ophilia M. Gordon age 50 resident same. We are brother and sister in law of Susanna and live in same house with her. Not remarried since death of her husband. CLAIM FOR RESTORATION 29 Apr 1908 She says she was dropped from the pension rolls a few years ago because of small inheritance she received (from another paper it was evidently her father who died. from another paper she received the inheritance 6 Jun 1894) LETTER of 18 Aug 1910 Says Charles L. Wllard and C. R. Killingsworth of Bristol say they had attended his funeral in Bristol on 25 Feb 1870 NOTE from War Dept. Joseph Bruden served in Co. H 3rd US Vet Vol from 4 Sept 1865 to spring of 1866 SPECIAL EXAMINERS REPORT 22 Apr 1898 says Susanna owned a ten room house 1426 S. 4th St. north value $3550; house on Greenwich st. value $1300 house inBristol value $800; eleven shares PA RR value $550 and money in bank value $1200. Mentions her father's will (father's name James Gordon) and was probated 6 Jun 1894. Her deposition says she has a life estate in the house in Bristol. AFFIDAVIT of Charles L. Wollard and C. R. Killingsworth say that Joseph Brudon was member of M. E. church.
