Page 179 1790 # 2291 "In the name of GOD I Barbara Shaffer of Springfield Township in the County of Bucks and Common wealth of Pennsylvania widow and relict of George Shaffer late of Springfield Township aforesaid deceased, being sick and weak but of sound mind and memory- blessed be GOD therefore I DO make and execute this my last will and Testament in manner and form herein after mentioned- First it is my will that my funeral expenses and just debt be paid by my Executor herein after mentioned. Impris I give to George Sheiveley Junior (the son of George Sheiveley) living now in Northampton County the sum of Five pounds in gold or Silver coin to be paid to his guardian in one year from this date I give to the minister and Vestry of the Lutheran Church in Springfield Township the sum of Five pounds in gold or Silver coin to be paid to them in One year after my decease in trust to be by them paid out in Religious or Charitable [cross-out] at their discretions- I give in trust to the Overseerers of the poor of Springfield Township and their successors the sum of Five pounds to be paid out in schooling and educating such poor children in said Township, whose parents are too poor to pay for their childrens education- All the rest and residual of my personal Estate I do give and bequeath to Anthony Nuhouse- [umlaut over the u] And whereas the said Anthony Neuhouse [umlaut over the u] and his wife Elizabeth hath for some time lived with me in my House and hath been careful of my affairs & she hath been a tender nurse to me in my sickness. and whereas the said Elizabeth hath been brought up from a Child with my late Husband and myself and ever behaved to us as a dutiful child. I have therefore thought fit and it is my Will and I do hereby give and bequeath to the said Anthony Nuhouse[umlaut over the u] and to his wife Elizabeth during their natural lives. All and singular the plantation whereon I now live in Springfield Township and all other my Real Estate wherever lying being or to be found And after the death of the said Anthony Nuhouse [umlaut over the u]and his wife Elizabeth I do give and bequeath the said Plantation and all other my Real Estate to their son George Nuhouse [umlaut over the u] to hold to him his Heirs and assigns Forever But in case the said George should die before he comes of age or before the death of his Father and Mother that then and in that case I do hereby give and bequeath after the death of the said Anthony Nuhouse [umlaut over the u] and his wife Elizabeth all my Real Estate to the surviving Children of the said Anthony Nuhouse [umlaut over the u] to be equally divided among them to hold to them their Heirs and assigns forever- And, I do hereby make ordain and constitute John Cyphert of Springfield Township aforesaid my sole Executor of this my last will and Testament .
